Alex Stone is a Los Angeles-based national correspondent for ABC News Radio. Since he joined ABC News, Stone has covered stories around the globe, including the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami and the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami. Stone traveled to Beijing to cover the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Stone spent weeks in New Orleans and the surrounding areas of Louisiana covering Hurricane Katrina and the storm’s aftermath in 2005. He has also covered a number of high profile trials for ABC News, including the cases of Scott Peterson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson.

When he was attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, he reported the news around his class schedule on the weekdays and anchored “Colorado’s Morning News Saturday.” When he was at KOA, Stone received two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for investigative reporting on airport security and flaws in the Emergency Alert System. He has been awarded several Associated Press Awards and Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards for his local news coverage in Colorado.
