Alyssa Mastromonaco Biography
Alyssa Mende Mastromonaco is an American Senior Advisor and spokesperson for NARAL as of July 2018. Previously she was the President of Global Communications Strategy & Talent at A&E Networks and the Chief Operating Officer of Vice Media. Alyssa is also a contributing editor at Marie Claire magazine. Previously she also served as White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in the administration of President Barack Obama from 2011 to 2014. Alyssa was the youngest woman to hold that position. She was hired as then Senator Obama’s Director of Scheduling in 2005.

Alyssa was hired as a contributing editor at Marie Claire in June 2014. , She joined Vice Media as Chief Operating Officer in January 2015.
Alyssa was appointed Director of Scheduling and Advance in the administration of President Barack Obama in November 2008.
She was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in January 2011. The New Republicmagazine listed Mastromonaco on its “2011 List Issue” as being one of Washington’s most powerful, least famous people in November 2011. Alyssa along with Nancy-Ann DeParle, who was White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, it was the first time a presidential administration had two women deputies in power. Alyssa was notable for her long institutional memory, the ability to understand logistics, and her low-key approach to the position.
Alyssa left her position as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in May 2014 . She was replaced by Anita Decker Breckenridge.
