Annalise Basso is an American actress and model. She is best known for starring in a number of films such as Bedtime Stories (2008), Love Takes Wing (2009), Standing Up (2013), Oculus (2013), and Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016).

Annalise starred in the television series The Red Road from 2014 until 2015.  She graduated from Campbell Hall School in Studio City, Los Angeles.

Annalise’s older siblings, Alexandria and Gabriel Basso, are also actors

Initially Annalise had been on television commercials or small guest appearances on television series. Her first role that earned her attention was her role as Eden Hamby on True Blood. She starred in the television film Love Takes Wing from the Love Comes Softly series in 2009.  When she was ten years old , she took part in Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? as a student. Recently she has had roles in episodes of New Girl and Nikita

Her first lead role in a feature film was in D. J. Caruso’s Standing Up, a coming-of-age story based on the novel The Goats by Brock Cole. The film debuted at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The story centers on two children, played by Basso and Chandler Canterbury, who are stripped naked and left stranded together on an island as part of a summercamp prank.  In 2014, she starred in the horror film Oculus as a younger version of Karen Gillan’s character. Basso gained greater recognition and attention for the critically successful horror film Ouija: Origin of Evil, in 2016.

Annalise Basso Ouija

Basso gained greater recognition and attention for the critically successful horror film Ouija: Origin of Evil, in 2016. A supernatural horror film directed and edited by Mike Flanagan and written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard. A widow and her family introduce a Ouija board into their phony seance business, thereby inviting a spirit that possesses the youngest daughter.

The film was released on October 21, 2016, by Universal Pictures, grossing over $81 million. It received positive reviews, with many praising it as a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Annalise Basso New Girl

Annalise appeared on film New Girl. This is  a sitcom that premiered on Fox on September 20, 2011. The series revolves around a kooky teacher, Jess (Zooey Deschanel), after she moves into a Los Angeles loft with three men, Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield), and Winston (Lamorne Morris); Jess’ best friend Cece (Hannah Simone) is also part of the series. The show combines comedy and drama elements as the characters, who are in their early thirties, deal with maturing relationships and career choices.
