Bill Barajas, an outstanding American journalist, made his mark by joining KPRC as an anchor/reporter in October 2019. Prior to his tenure at KPRC, he served as a general assignments reporter at KSAT 12 News. His journey with KSAT commenced in August 2013.

Bill was born and raised in Houston and grew up near downtown, but in middle school his family and him moved to a suburb south of downtown called Clear Lake.  His father, Mike Barajas, is a former anchor at Fox26 and his cousin, Erik Barajas, is a current anchor at KTRK. “I grew up around the news business and fell in love with it,” Bill told Chron.com. Bill is a graduate of the University of Houston in 2010.  Growing up around the news industry Bill fell in love with it immediately.  His  family is full of Houston Cougar alumni  when he  moved home, one of his first purchases was Cougar football season tickets! Bill love seafood, especially shrimp and salmon. He could literally eat it every single day.

Bill is currently single though he has kept her personal life secret. Bill lives in the Southtown/King William area and he love it. He really enjoy trying new restaurants and some of his favorites are the B&D Ice House, the Friendly Spot, Rosario’s, Liberty Bar and especially Blue Star. Bill has a dog pet named Sidney who he rescued from the Houston SPCA years ago. He don’t know what kind of breed she is specifically,but the SPCA said she most likely is part Blue Heeler. She is an inside dog and very well trained.

Bill joined KPRC on June 17, 2019. A new face was seen in Houston TV news. Bill, a Bayou City native, joined KPRC as a reporter. If his last name sounds familiar, that’s because the TV news industry runs in Barajas’ family.

Bill’s father, Mike Barajas, is a former anchor at Fox26 and his cousin, Erik Barajas, is a current anchor at KTRK. Bill’s last day at KSAT is Friday. He will take some time off before making his debut at Channel 2.

The most important thing about being back in the Bayou City, Bill said, is the opportunity to spend more time with his family.

“To be back with my parents, brother and family is a blessing,” Bill said.

Although Bill’s exact work schedule has yet to be determined, his first day at KPRC Channel 2 was  slotted for June 17 2019.

Bill has been at KSAT since August of 2013 and in that time he had the opportunity to cover a little bit of everything. Time really does fly when you’re having fun and love your job.  KSAT-12 anchor and reporter Bill left San Antonio to join Houston’s KPRC as a reporter. TV news industry runs in the Bayou City native’s family. Bill’s father, Mike Barajas, is a former anchor at Fox26 and his cousin, Erik Barajas, is a current anchor at KTRK. One of his favorite “on the job” stories is having the opportunity to cover the San Antonio Spurs championship run. Bill usually covered the crime beat, so covering sports and the championship was a nice change of pace. It was amazing to see all of the loyal San Antonio fans support their team day in and day out!

Erik Barajas is Bill’s cousin he, is a current anchor at KTRK. Erik Barajas is an anchor and television host born in Texas. He joined KTRK-TV’s 13 Eyewitness News in March 2008. He has worked as an anchor and a reporter all over the state.
