Brandon Lee Rudat is an American journalist and television anchor. He is a former CBS Atlanta morning host where he worked for three years. Recently Brandon was working at an independent station KTVK as a reporter and 4:30 p.m. anchor. He joined the station On January 29, 2014 and left in 2018. In Phoenix he’s known as Brandon Lee.
Initially Brandon worked as a host on CBS Atlanta’s “Better Mornings” from 2010 until he was let go in July of 2013. His tattoos and free-wheeling spirit marked him as different from your typical anchor.

“I’m going to continue to pursue a career in news,” he said. “I’m going through a transition period: Do I want to continue on air or do I want to go on the managerial side? Even my current general manager has encouraged me to become a news director: ‘You have a face for television but you have the mind of a news manager.’ He has really encouraged me to consider being a news director.”
Brando is in the midst of writing a book about drug addiction, which is where much of his attention will be for the immediate future. It will be a change for Lee, who enjoys the rigid schedule of an anchor.

In November 2018 3TV evening anchor Brandon Lee Left the station, as well as Preston Phillips, who anchors mornings and afternoons for CBS 5 . Kevin James, vice president and general manager for the stations, confirmed the news.

Brandon whose last broadcast was on Friday, Nov. 23, came to 3TV in 2014 after a stint in Atlanta. On Facebook, he was asked if he plans to return to Georgia. “It’s a real possibility!!” he posted. “Not back to CBS46 though!! I’d come back to a different station in Atlanta!”
A few days ago, he posted a rather cryptic message that indicated he was leaving. After a user suggested he was playing around, he responded: “I am not trying to play games. I promise. I am leaving Channel 3. I will have more to say when I am able to… but please know that I don’t play games and I care about my Facebook friends, too.”
In addition to his broadcast work, he is an artist and posted on Facebook that he is working on a book about drug addiction.

He worked as a host on CBS Atlanta’s “Better Mornings” from 2010 until he was let go in July of 2013. Brandon began his professional career as an intern on the Today Show in New York City and a producer for WNBC’s Today in New York where he covered the 9/11 terrorist attacks and aftermath. Rudat then relocated to Maryland where he worked as the morning anchor and reporter for WHAG-TV, NBC 25. Rudat has also worked as a political reporter for a cable news network in New York and a fill-in anchor at WVIT based out of Hartford, Connecticut, notably for his investigative reporting of illegal street vendors and manufacturers of illegal fire extinguishers.[1] Rudat worked with the 7News team out of Boston, Massachusetts, until April 2009 and subsequently went to KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles from June 2009 until April 2010.
Brandon is an Emmy award winning journalist. He was the primary anchor for “Good Evening Arizona” in Phoenix. He is also the host of a podcast called “Escaping Rock Bottom” which provides information and stories of hope about the opioid crisis.
Brandon is also the author of a new book about addiction called “Mascara Boy” which will be available to purchase in May of 2019.
