Brent Kearney: A Dedicated Journalist at WKTV
Brent Kearney, a talented Multimedia Journalist, is a key member of the WKTV team, where he has been making significant contributions since joining in October 2018. He hails from Liverpool, New York, and has a strong connection to the local community.
Brent’s role at WKTV has seen him cover some of the region’s most significant stories, demonstrating his commitment to journalism. Notably, he provided extensive coverage of the Halloween floods in 2019, showing his dedication to keeping the community informed about important events. Additionally, he had the opportunity to take a thrilling ride in a Russian L-39 Albatros aircraft over the Mohawk Valley, showcasing his willingness to go to great lengths for a story.
Education has played a pivotal role in Brent’s journey. He earned his bachelor’s degree in television-radio from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2018. Prior to that, he completed his associate’s degree at Onondaga Community College in 2016.
During his time at Ithaca College, Brent gained valuable experience anchoring and reporting for the school’s student-run news program, NewsWatch. He also undertook internships at notable organizations, including a documentary production company named Rugged Entertainment in Los Angeles, California, and NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Brent values quality time with his friends and family and enjoys the great outdoors. His passion for racing and cars further enriches his life.
