Burgess Jenkins is an American actor. He is best known for work in the film Remember the Titans opposite Academy Award winner Denzel Washington; and as Hilary Swank’s husband David Winter in The Reaping (2007). In addition He has also recurred as Randy Roberts on the smash hit “Nashville” (ABC), Bobby Irons on the CW favorite “One Tree Hill” & Jeff Rumson on the comedy series “Marry Me” with Lucy Liu. He is also known for being nominated for Best Actor at the Boston Film Festival for his turn as Bruce Snow in the award winning thriller “Insignificant Others”. Most recently, he has been a series regular on the long running hit CBS show “The Young and the Restless”.

Burgess who played Genoa City’s Billy Abbott until January 2016,spoken out about why he made the decision to leave “The Young and the Restless.” He told the Winston-Salem Journal that his wife, Ashlee, was diagnosed with breast cancer back in November 2015, and as a result he was no longer able to continue commuting between East and West coasts while also taking care of her.
Later he happily, revealed that his wife is not in danger of losing her life to the breast cancer, although she will have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation.
Since he left “Y&R” Burgess began taping the film The Reason and also plans to do some directing.
