Byron Morton Biography
Byron Morton is an accomplished American meteorologist who has earned an Emmy nomination and holds certification in his field. He is a familiar face on the weekend editions of KOAT Action 7 News, where he brings his expertise to both morning and nighttime broadcasts. Byron became a part of the KOAT Action 7 News team in December 2001, taking on the role of meteorologist.

Before joining the Action 7 News team, Byron served as the chief meteorologist at WMSN-TV in Madison, Wisconsin. Additionally, he took on the role of fill-in meteorologist at WKOW-TV, a sister station to WMSN-TV. Throughout his career, Byron has demonstrated a commitment to delivering accurate and informative weather forecasts to his audience, earning recognition and respect in the field of meteorology.

Byron introduced Royale Da to her fiancee Chad(Werenko) whom they got married later . Chad and Byron were were friends for years. Royale and her fiancee wedded in August 2015. Being a very secretive person Byron has not revealed any information regarding his marriage. Currently it is not clear if he is married or he is still single.
When Byron is not keeping an eye on the sky, he enjoys weight-lifting, tennis, hiking, running, and just about anything else outdoors.
Byron Morton KOAT Action 7 News
Byron keeps you in the know morning and night on the weekend editions of Action 7 News. He stated“I guess you could call me a weather geek. Weather is what makes me tick and it affects everyone every day.” He works with Joe Diaz and Eric Green who are also meteorologists at the station. Before joining the Action 7 News team in December 2001, Byron was chief meteorologist at WMSN-TV in Madison, Wisc., and fill-in meteorologist at its sister station, WKOW-TV.
Prior to this, Byron held on-air positions at WOI-TV in Des Moines and WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisc., and served as weather producer for Good Morning America, The LA Times, and Televisa Mexico. Byron also interned at KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City.
Byron is the second forecaster in the state (after Chief Meteorologist Joe Diaz) to earn the prestigious designation of “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist” from the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and he holds a seal of approval from the National Weather Association (NWA).
