Chloe Lang Interview
R: Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got your start acting?
Chloe: I am sixteen years old and a junior in public high school. I am on my high school dance team and we practice together three to four times a week. My other after school activities includes singing and guitar lessons. I am also involved with acting and auditioning. I was six years old the very first time I was on a movie set. I was invited by my friend to be an extra. We were there all day; I had to play in a ball pit for hours, and then the second half of the day eat ice cream. After that, I was hooked!
R: You played Stephanie on LazyTown. Can you tell us about that? What was the audition process like?
Chloe: The audition took place in NYC and I was sent in by my agent. I was 10 years old. I remember being super excited to be able to audition for a principal role that would also require singing and dancing as well as having to move to Iceland for the production. It was a two day audition and a two week wait! It was really within six weeks of auditioning that I had packed my bags and left my friends and family behind to work full-time on a series. I worked really hard and also met some lifelong friends, as well as traveled to some great places.
R: Tell us about The Fifth Borough and about your character Skylar.
Chloe: I also auditioned for The Fifth Borough in NYC. I was super excited to find out I had booked the role of Skylar and was ready to tackle the role of a young girl who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The cast was full of amazing talent such as Steve Stanulis,Vince Pastore,Vincent Young, Richard Grieco, Joseph Donofrio, and Cathy Morality, just to name a few.
R: Are there any other projects coming out that you want to talk about?
Chloe: I am excited to be playing a somewhat rebellious yet thoughtful teen named Zara in an upcoming film called The Third Act. It also has an amazingly talented cast and I am looking forward to working with directors Lori Lowe and Rachel Jones.
R: How do you prepare yourself for a role?
Chloe: When I receive the script I read it several times and then I work with my acting coach who teaches me to become personal with the character–to think of who that character is beyond what is written in the script.
R: If you could make a guest appearance on any five shows, what would they be?
Chloe: Even though there are no current episodes being filmed, I would love to be in the Vampire Diaries. I would also love to be in any scary movie! I would love to work alongside Chloe Grace Moretz and Leonardo Dicaprio.
R: Not only do you act, but you also a sing and dance. Do you have any plans in the future to record an album?
Chloe: Regarding music, I have just released a single called “Party Down The Road.” You can see the video on my YouTube channel (link below) and it will soon be available on several digital platforms. I have several other songs almost ready to go!
R: If you could travel back in time, what time period would that be and why?
Chloe: Well, if I can travel back in time I think I would visit the 80’s. It is an era my mom makes reference to and I have seen a lot of styles come through lately so it would be fun to check it out!
R: What advice would you give someone who wanted to become an actress?
Chloe: Be prepared to take a lot of classes from different people and be willing to network. Auditioning is the hardest part…and being able to accept the roles you did not get is a must. Enjoy the process and never give up.
R: Tell us about Little by Little.
Chloe:Little by Little is a nonprofit organization that was started by my friend Raquel Wallace in an effort to use our talents and resources to bring performing arts opportunity to kids who may not have access to it. We have done dance clothing drives to those in need as well as dance workshop opportunities. We have also been able to help secure performing arts scholarships for kids or even tickets to shows! We are always looking for studios or folks to partner with to bring our joy or the performing arts to others. You can learn more about us at https://www.little-by-little.org/about
R: What are five things people may not know about you?
Chloe: A few things that people may not know about me: I spend part of my school day enrolled in a visual arts program. I love to travel! I am in somewhat of a competition to visit more countries than my sister! I love the beach and I love going to the gym! I have been competing in dance since I was five years old. When my dance team season is over, I will then move into dancing with a studio and competing with them.
R: Other than this one, what is the strangest question you have ever been asked?
Chloe: I actually think that this was the strangest question I have ever been asked! Although you have also asked me some questions that I have never been asked before, such as the one about traveling back in time, things people may not know about me, and what shows I would like to be in.
R: Are you on any social networking sites? If so, which ones and what are their addresses? Do you have an official website and/or YouTube page?
Chloe:Here is a list of my social media sites. Each platform has some fake accounts of people claiming to be me, so when you search them look carefully!
