Christina Aguayo Biography
Christina Aguayo is an American News anchor. After six years in the sports industry, she decided to make the move from sports to news. She joined the KVIA team in April 2018, a new adventure that brings her nearer to family, and a city that is close to her heart: El Paso. She is excited about her new journey, and hopes to bring as much joy to the Sun City, as it has already brought to her.

Christina grew up in the small town of Elizabeth, Colorado. She was raised on a farm, her parents instilled in her a strong work ethic and provided her a solid foundation in which to lead her life. Christina knew she had a passion for sports at a young age, and decided to combine that with her love for writing to become a sports broadcaster.
Christina’s family is from Juarez, she has an extended family that lives in the Borderland, and has already fallen in love with both the city, and her new KVIA team including Estela Casas.

After spending seven successful years in the Television Industry, Kira feel the experience gained will be a great asset to the company, by helping to relate to and connect with the community it serve. Working in television, she launched Multi-tiered Marketing Campaigns on social media that garner success with both ratings and viewer interactions; increased hits on one company’s website 1000% in three months, and gained almost 1 million views on YouTube in less than four years – keep in mind most of her work is trafficked through Company Websites. Her vision is to keep News Fun, New and Refreshing!
To further infiltrate and serve the local community, Kira founded my own Digital Media company, Platinum Sports Media Group, which she enterprise, produce, direct, edit, perform hersekf, and completely on her own free time. Staying up to date and connecting with the community comes naturally to Kira, engaging the community and performing is my passion. She speak the Language! A great mentor once told her to “Think Outside the Box” and “Always look for a new challenge,” So Kira transitioned from sports to news. Her creativity, attention to detail, and investigative skills have been greatly utilized in the news room, and she would tirelessly work to provide KVIA newsroom with everything she have to help the station be as successful as possible.

Christina spent her time interning at the #1 Station in Denver, Colorado, KUSA-NBC, and the #2 Station, KCNC-CBS, more than prepared her for a successful career in television
She spent time as a Sports Director, Sports Anchor, Sports Reporter, Host, MMJ and Videographer at WABG-ABC, in Greenville, Mississippi; WGXA-FOX/ABC in Macon, Georgia; WFFT-FOX in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Buckeye Broadband in Toledo, Ohio.
