In 1991 Phillips met actor William Baldwin of the acting Baldwin family and has been married to him since 1995. They have three children Vance Baldwin, Jamison Baldwin and Brooke Baldwin.
Chynna as a teenager had a drug and alcohol addiction. Chynna’s half-sister, Mackenzie Phillips in September 2009 alleged in her memoirs that she [Mackenzie] and her father had a “consensual” ten-year incestuous relationship. While both Geneviève Waïte who was John’s wife at the time, and also the mother of Bijou Phillips, and Michelle Phillips, John’s second wife and a mother of Chynna Phillips told the media that they did not believe her claims, Chynna said she believed Mackenzie.
Chynna was treated for anxiety on February 12, 2010. In a statement made on February 27, her manager Lizzie Grubman said, “After successfully completing her in-patient treatment for anxiety, Chynna Phillips has happily returned home to celebrate her daughter’s birthday with her family.” Grubman said Phillips was “happy to be home with her family. She is in great spirits.”

In 2010 Chynna feared that her marriage with her husband Billy Baldwin was crumbling after her half-sister Mackenzie Philips claimed she had a sexual relationship with their now deceased father John Philips of the Mamas and the Papas. She buckled from the stress and admitted herself into rehab due to the stress.
Cynna later in the new issue of Us Weekly she explained the saga, how she saved the marriage and her reunion with ’90’s pop group Wilson Phillips.

Chynna started her career in acting. She appeared in films such as Caddyshack II, Some Kind of Wonderful, Say Anything and as the title character Roxanne Pulitzer in the 1989 television biographical film, Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer. She returned to acting appearing as Kim MacAfee in the television movie Bye Bye Birdie in 1995 . IN Danny Phantom she voiced the character of Kitty along with her husband William Baldwin as Johnny 13.

Phillips formed the trio Wilson Phillips with her childhood friends Carnie and Wendy Wilson in the late 1980. In 1990 the group released their self-titled debut album. The album would go on to sell eight million copies. In 1992 the group released its second album, Shadows and Light , which was a commercial disappointment, despite being certified platinum. Chynna after that project, she left the group, citing exhaustion.
Chynna released her debut solo album, Naked and Sacred in 1995 , but failed to recapture the success she found with Wilson Phillips. Wilson Phillips reunited to record their third album, California in 2004 , which featured cover tunes from West Coast singers from the 1960s/70s.
In the Issue of People magazine in October 15, 2007 , she was said to be writing songs for a Christian album. Chynna appeared in brother-in-law Stephen Baldwin’s documentary, Livin It: Unusual Suspects. She teamed up with singer/songwriter Vaughan Penn in 2009 to form the duo “Chynna and Vaughan”. The two on September 22, 2009 they released their debut album, One Reason. Wilson Phillips in 2010 released ‘Christmas In Harmony’ and ‘Dedicated’ in 2012. They continue to play shows every year.
Wilson Phillips reunited in July 2016 and performed on ABC’s Greatest Hits.
