Courtney Friedman Biography
Courtney Friedman is a respected American journalist with a heartfelt connection to her work. She became a part of KSAT 12 News in August 2014, starting as a general assignments reporter.

As of October 2023, Courtney Friedman is still with KSAT 12 as an Anchor/ reporter. Almost instantly, she developed a deep appreciation for the welcoming community of San Antonio.
On October 27, 2018 a gunman opened fire on Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue just because they were Jews. It has been deemed the most deadly attack on Jews in American history.
Days after the shooting, KSAT 12’s Courtney interviewed a local rabbi who once lived in Pittsburgh and went to the Tree of Life Synagogue.

Courtney Friedman met her husband Clint in Tyler where she began her news career. They have a daughter together who they refer to as a pandemic baby as she born in July 2021 during the pandemic. They say she is already obsessed with water and swimming.
Courtney affectionately describes her daughter as spunky, smart, sweet, and fearlessly adventurous. In fact, she humorously notes that her child’s fearlessness on the playground might sometimes border on being a little too daring.
Courtney’s husband, Clint, plays an active role in their daughter’s life. Despite being just 2 years old in 2023, he’s already introducing her to the world of golf. Furthermore, he wholeheartedly supports her passion for music and has plans to enroll her in music classes to nurture her musical talents.

Courtney joined KSAT 12 News in August 2014 as a general assignments reporter and immediately fell in love with San Antonio and it’s friendly people. “When I was 12, I was that kid running around the house with a fake microphone,” Courtney said.
Her future as a journalist wasn’t sealed in until high school. That’s when a journalism teacher told her, “There’s no better feeling in the world than people truly trusting you to tell their story.” Courtney has taken that responsibility seriously ever since.

The week she graduated, she moved from Austin to Tyler, Texas where she became a reporter and anchor for KYTX CBS 19. Courtney covered many stories there, including: a high profile double murder case involving the Kaufman County District Attorney and Assistant District Attorney, the record-setting 2011 wildfires that burned thousands of acres across East Texas, and ongoing coverage for area veterans as they battled PTSD and homelessness. She was sent to Ft. Hood to cover the base’s second shooting, to Oklahoma to cover tornado damage, and to College Station to cover a mass shooting near campus.
In 2013, she was nominated for a Barbara Jordan Award for her stories about people with disabilities in the workplace.
Courtney said her most memorable interview was with an East Texas man, who was dying of cancer. With just a week left to live, he rode into a fundraiser event on a motorcycle and talked with Courtney on camera about his life. Courtney’s camera captured some of the last video taken of the man and his newborn baby girl. His wife said it’s footage she’ll cherish forever.
