Felicia Bolton is an American journalist originally from Dallas, Texas. She is works at WNCN as a Morning Anchor and Investigative Reporter. Prior to her time at WNCN, Felicia served as the Morning Anchor and Special Projects Reporter for WMC Action News 5 in Memphis, TN. Felicia has also worked as the Morning Anchor for KTVE / KARD in West Monroe, LA and as an Anchor / Reporter at KOSA-TV in Odessa, TX. Felicia is a former Miss Texas and Miss Texas Teen for National American Miss.

Felicia graduated Cum Laude within 3 years from University of Texas at Arlington as a double major. She attained a Bachelor’s of Art degrees in Spanish and Broadcast Communications. Felicia also won the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Best Package Award for her work on “The Shortcast’, the online broadcast for The Shorthorn Newspaper.
Felicia advanced in her education by studying abroad at the Latin American University of Science and Technology in San José, Costa Rica. While in Costa Rica, she lived with a host family and spent her spare time building houses in poverty-stricken areas.
During her college career, she grew in her broadcast experience by interning at WFAA and KTVT in Dallas. In addition to this, Felicia worked as an entertainment reporter for D210-TV in Dallas, TX.
Felicia’s passion for broadcast journalism ignited at an early age while attending an advanced immersion dual college credit program called Richland Collegiate High School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering. During that time, she participated in the high school newscast, RCH-TV.
As a member of the first graduating class, Felicia laid the foundation for her career by simultaneously earning a Distinguished High School Diploma and an Associate of Science degree.

Felicia has been salsa dancing and bachata dancing since 2011. She fell in love with those styles while she was living in San Jose, Costa Rica. Her host mother and host sister showed her first salsa steps while she was in the kitchen one night. Five years later, she is still spinning, turning, and styling. The passion and flavor of salsa invigorates her. It’s a workout in itself. Latin dance is a true passion of Felicia.

When she is not at work she enjoys giving back to the community through volunteerism and mentorship. Felicia is also the founder of “A.B.L.E. WNCN has seen a good amount of turnover since being purchased by Nextstar in January 2017, but in recent months, WNCN has added positions: meteorologists Paul Heggen and Erin Clanahan; and weekday morning anchor Taniya Wright.
She was nominated by The Tennessee Associated Press as Journalist of The Year 2016 (2nd place) and Best TV Reporter 2016 (Honorable Mention). Previously Felicia received an Tennessee AP Award of Excellence for her story “Love, Allie”. She has also worked as the Morning Anchor for KTVE / KARD in West Monroe, LA and as an Anchor / Reporter at KOSA-TV in Odessa, TX.

Since hanging up her sash, Felicia a former Miss Texas has swapped her swimsuit for boxing gloves. Felicia a news anchor at WNCN has been winning pageants since 2008 and she’s no stranger to the gym. “For years, especially when training for Miss Texas, I would spend hours in a traditional 24 hour gym. I liked it—at one point I even loved it, but now I’m honestly burnt out! I knew I wanted to try something new. So, I found boxing and fitness kickboxing.” She started training with mixed martial arts fighter and Memphis police officer, Brian Hall. You can find them at Memphis Fitness Kickboxing in Midtown, outdoor distance running in areas of Memphis, the Police Boxing Gym, and Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu in Bartlett.
