Johnathon Schaech Biography

Johnathon Schaech is an American actor, writer and producer. He appeared onto the scene as one of Hollywood’s most handsome leading men in Jocelyn Moorhouse’s How to Make an American Quilt (1995) and Tom Hanks’ directorial debut That Thing You Do! (1996). Johnathon has shown incredible versatility as an actors since then. Over the last twenty years, Johnathon starred in over one-hundred and sixty Hollywood productions. He has worked opposite some of the most acclaimed and awarded actors, producers, writers and directors including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kenneth Branagh, Ed Harris, Idris Elba, Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis, Tom Fontana, Gary Goetzman, Neil Moritz, Greg Araki, Cary Brokaw, Roy Lee, Jessica Lange and Bill Paxton.

Recently he captivated television audiences as the eccentric movie-star in Showtime’s hit series Ray Donovan (2014) and has portrayed comic-book legend Jonah Hex on the first three season’s of DC’s Legends

Johnathon Schaech Family

Johnathon was born in Edgewood, Maryland.  He is the son of Joe, a Baltimore City law enforcement officer, and Joanne Schaech, a human resources executive. He was raised as a Roman Catholic.  Schaech has a sister, Renée.  He went to University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMBC), where he studied economics and took one acting class.  He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Johnathon married the actress Christina Applegate in October 2001 in Palm Springs.  He filed for a divorce in December 2005, which became final in August 2007.

Johnathon became engaged to the singer/actress Jana Kramer in December 2009 , whom he began dating in 2008.  The couple married on July 4, 2010, in Michigan but announced their separation one month later. In 2011 their divorce was finalized.

In July 2013 Johnathon married his third wife, the music and book publicist Julie Solomon, in Ocean City, Maryland. The couple has one son, Camden Quinn, born in September 2013.

Actor Johnathon alleged that director Franco Zeffirelli sexually assaulted him during the filming of Sparrow in 2018.

Johnathon Schaech Prom Night

Johnathon took the lead in Sony’s remake of Prom Night in 2007.  Johnathan received an MTV award nomination for best villain for his performance, losing to Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker.  He appeared in science fiction film Quarantine in 2008.

Johnathon appeared in the submarine thriller Phantom in 2013.  Johnathon was also cast in the first season of Showtime’s series Ray Donovan, appearing in five episode as an eccentric movie star, Sean Walker, and played the corn-rowed villain The Legend of Hercules, gaining 30 lbs of muscle to play the Egyptian mercenary Tarak.
