Lil Mama born as Niatia Jessica Kirkland is an American hip hop recording artist from Brooklyn, New York City, New York. A rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer and actress, Lil Mama was also a talent show judge for seven seasons on America’s Best Dance Crew.
She experienced Billboard placement with the release of her debut album, VYP (Voice of the Young People), which spawned the hit single “Lip Gloss”. She was also cast for the role of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, in the VH1 biographical film CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, which aired in October 2013. Lil Mama has sold over 1 million records worldwide.

Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama is a collaborative Christmas mixtape by R&B singer Jeremih and hip hop recording artist Chance the Rapper. It is the fourth mixtape by Jeremih, and the fifth mixtape by Chance the Rapper. The mixtape was self-released via SoundCloud on December 22, 2016, and features collaborations with Hannibal Buress, King Louie, Noname, Lud Foe, and Teddy Jackson. The mixtape is dedicated to the city of Chicago.
The mixtape was reissued on December 19, 2017 as a double-disc mixtape titled Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama Re-Wrapped. The mixtape contained nine new songs and a piano remix of “Stranger At The Table”.

Lil made her debut on the first episode alongside Kiyomi Leslie and Masika Kalysha as replacement for cast members who quit. She stars alongside with her mentor and new manager MC Lyte. In 2006 Mama signed a recording contract with Jive Records. She was featured in Dr. Luke’s remix of Avril Lavigne’s song, “Girlfriend”in 2007. Voice Of The Young People: I Am That, a proposed album would have had guest appearances including Soulja Boy, Khalil, Angel Haze, LoLa Monroe, Teyana Taylor, Trina, Keke Palmer, Nas, Chris Brown among others. Unfortunately due to her leaving Jive, the Album never saw a release and instead she released few singles recorded with Zomba Records directly online for her fans. The other songs with the featured artist were never recorded and were disbanded. This made Lil Mama an independent artist.
