Maureen Maher is an American popular television news reporter as well as a correspondent. Currently she serves as a TV host in the American documentary/news magazine television show 48 Hours Mystery. Maher was also awarded the Emmy award for her works in news and media field.

Currently, Maureen is a correspondent for “48 Hours.” She was named the “48 Hours” team in 2003. She works with Susan Zirinsky . Since then she has spearheaded investigations into international and national adoptions; anchored an in-depth report on the reasons behind a crime spike in Chicago; and examined and helped solve cold cases.

Maureen’s extensive journalism experience includes reporting on the war on terror; the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan; the 2002 hotel bombing in Kenya; the Enron scandal; the crisis in Kosovo; and many significant national stories such as wildfires and hurricanes.

Before she joined “48 Hours”, Maureen was a Dallas-based correspondent for CBS News from 1999-2002, where she reported primarily for the “CBS Evening News.”

Prior to that, Maureen was a correspondent for CBS Newspath, the network’s 24-hour television newsgathering service for CBS stations and broadcasters around the world. While based in Chicago, Maher covered major stories across the United States, including the impeachment of President Clinton.  In 1997 that when she joined CBS Newspath.

Maureen Began her broadcasting career immediately after graduating from Loyola University. She began with a Chicago based WLUW (FM) as morning drive news anchor in 1991. In 1992 Maher then moved to Detroit where she worked as a reporter for Detroit-based TV station WJBK-TV and CBS-owned radio stationWWJ (AM) until 1995. From 1995 to 1997, Maher worked as a news anchor for WJRT-TV in Michigan, covering breaking news, including the Oklahoma City bombing and the Decker farm raid. From 1997 to 2002, she was a Chicago-based CBS Newspath correspondent and covered notable stories such as the impeachment of Bill Clinton, the Kosovo crisis and the release of US servicemen in Albania.

Maureen’s reporting was part of CBS News’ coverage of the Newtown school shooting, which won the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Silver Baton in 2014.
