Mike McDaniel Biography and Coaching Career
Mike McDaniel is the current head coach of the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 6, 1983, in Aurora, Colorado, and began his NFL coaching career in 2005 as an intern for the Denver Broncos.
McDaniel spent the next 11 years as an assistant coach with the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers. He was named the 49ers’ run game coordinator in 2018 and offensive coordinator in 2021.
Under McDaniel’s leadership, the 49ers’ offense ranked seventh in the NFL in total offense (375.7 yards per game) and 13th in scoring offense (25.1 points per game) in 2021. The team also advanced to the NFC Championship Game.
McDaniel was hired as the Dolphins’ head coach on February 7, 2022. He became the fifth coach in Dolphins history to lead his team to the playoffs in his first season and just the sixth to post a winning record (9-8) in his first year at the helm.
McDaniel is known for his innovative offensive mind and his ability to develop young players. He is also known for his unique personality and his sense of humor.
McDaniel is also a co-host of the popular podcast “The McDaniel Show.”

Alya June McDaniel was born in February 2020 and is still a young child, but already a beloved member of the Miami Dolphins family. She has been seen at several Dolphins games, and she has even met some of the players. She is sure to grow up to be a big Dolphins fan, just like her dad.
