Morgan Chesky is an American television anchor and journalist. He is best known for his works at the KOMO News Station. Morgan KOMO4 news anchor in November 2018 he made the cross-country trek from the ABC affiliate in Seattle to join NBC News in New York as a full-time correspondent for the network. This happened after NBC News senior vp of worldwide news gathering David Verdi made the announcement official in a note to staff.

Prior to anchoring the weekday evening newscast, Morgan reported breaking news stories for the Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate. He led a crew on the first west coast flight to Cuba in more than 50 years. This resulted in a week-long series on the island that was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow award. In the article published in 2017, Buzzfeed ranked Morgan as the 10th hottest of the hot. And, he said in an interview on that same year, he’s single.

Starting December 2018, Morgan joined NBC News as a national correspondent. The move fulfilled his goal that felt too ambitious to say out loud. Morgan stated that his hope started at his grandparents’ dinner table where he grew up watching Tom Brokaw.

He left KOMO News in November 2018. He stated that “I leave KOMO News, a station that places a priority on its people, who in turn produce some of the finest journalism in the country. I’ll miss the camaraderie, the contagious rush of breaking news, and conversations shared over the (occasional) post-shift cocktail. Put simply, without the guidance of my KOMO colleagues, I would not be about to join NBC’s talented team.”
Morgan joined the KOMO News team in February 2016 after covering stories drawing national attention from his native state of Texas. His latest assignment at KOMO is anchoring the weekend evening newscasts alongside Michelle Esteban and breaking down the latest news through his weekday reports.
Morgan covered the blizzards, tornadoes, and even earthquakes of Oklahoma before he moved to Washington . He arrived in Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, 2013, minutes after an EF-5 tornado ripped through town. As one of the first reporters live from the storm’s devastation he helped reunite parents with children trapped inside an elementary school. Morgan’s interviews with families were shared across the nation, putting faces on the thousands affected.
During his time anchoring and reporting in Texas in 2009, he traveled to Fort Hood where he witnessed the tragic aftermath of its mass shooting. Over the ensuing days, Morgan’s stories gave a glimpse into the lives of the resilient, yet heartbroken soldiers of the tight knit military community.
One of his most memorable career moments came just weeks after starting at KOMO. He landed a spot on the Alaska Airlines flight redirected to perfectly intersect a solar eclipse over the Pacific Ocean.
