In the 1998 NFL Draft ,Peyton was selected by the Colts as the first overall pick. Peyton is still technically the oldest to win a Super Bowl when months and days are taken into account, given that his birthday is in March and Brady’s is in August.

A Child Actor’s Parent Begged Peyton Manning to Peg Their Kid During That Classic SNL Sketch

By DAN GARTLAND August 30, 2018

One thing Peyton Manning will always have over Tom Brady is that he was significantly better as host of Saturday Night Live. Manning’s 2007 appearance on SNL is right up there with his brother Eli’s 2012 turn as host among the best athlete performances on the show. Peyton’s classic United Way spoof has stood the test of time as the most memorable segment from that show, but he recently explained that he could have turned out differently.

Manning appeared Wednesday at the Colts’ annual kickoff luncheon and explained the backstory behind that sketch, specifically his reluctance to drill kids with footballs.

Peyton Manning Injury

Peyton attempted to play through a painful foot injury for weeks, according to one report.

Manning had a torn the plantar fascia in his right foot, ESPN reported. Manning had battled plantar fasciitis for weeks, but tore his plantar fascia against the Indianapolis Colts.

Manning, who was pulled in the third quarter of Sunday’s 29-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, had difficulty walking, according to ESPN.

Torn of plantar fascia doesn’t usually mean surgery, but the recovery time could have kept Manning out the rest of the regular season in question if he can’t play through it. These injuries to the foot are rare, although Chicago Bulls forward Pau Gasol, while a member of the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago, was back in the lineup in less than a month after tearing his plantar fascia.
