Talitha is a married lady. She took a two week vacation to get married near her parent’s home in Long Island New York. Two months into her marriage her husband was transferred to Kissimmee, Florida and they made the transition work. In her free time you can catch Talitha running, reading, playing tennis, canoeing and sometimes nursing a Nintendo Wii Sports injury. Talitha is currently based North Carolina where she enjoys spending time with her husband and puppy Sasha.

Anchor Talitha and her husband welcomed their new bundles of joy a girl and a boy on June 23, 2017 Friday morning at 10:09 a.m. and 10:11 a.m., respectively . Kyla Lynette and Bohdan Isaiah are so excited to meet the WXII family!
In November 2016, Talitha and her husband made a difficult decision to leave the Piedmont for an anchor job in a larger news market. But when they found out just weeks ago that Talitha was pregnant and that God blessed them with twins, the couple could think of no better place to raise their family then in the Piedmont.

Talitha Vickers is an anchor at WXII 12 News in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Every weekend morning, viewers in North Carolina wake up to Talitha news anchor for NBC affiliate WXII-TV 12. One of her team member in the station is Kenny Beck. During her thirteen years as a journalist, Talitha has held multiple roles in the newsroom and has worked arduously learning every facet of the business—both behind and in front of the camera. Over the years, she has covered everything from presidential campaigns and debates, to health and entertainment, to major national stories.

After Talitha graduated with honors from Monmouth University she become a field producer at MY 9 News in Secaucus, New Jersey. while in the station she conducted interviews, made beat calls and went on breaking news assignments. She also worked in the promotions department to create content that motivated viewers to tune in. At the urging of New York journalists and news directors, Talitha took the initiative to learn how to shoot, edit video and create a resume tape which landed her a position as a “one-woman-band” freelance reporter with News 12 the Bronx.

In search of a full time position Talitha jumped at the opportunity to become a reporter in Maryland with CBS at WBOC. After realizing her strengths as a reporter who consistently and exclusively broke stories, she was promoted to bureau chief in Delaware within her first two months. With six newscasts and tight deadlines Talitha honed in on her writing skills to make an impact with viewers in an accurate and concise manner. As bureau chief Talitha was responsible for coverage of the station’s second largest county which encompassed over a dozen cities. Talitha later received an Associated Press Award for Outstanding Spot News Coverage. After three years with WBOC, it was time for Talitha to make a leap into a larger market.

Talitha was flown out for a two day interview in Charlotte, North Carolina and was hired on the spot with WCCB FOX Charlotte as an Anchor / Reporter. Once again, Talitha proved how valuable she was not only to the station but also to the community. As a general assignment reporter she attending workshops and town hall meetings outside of work hours in an effort to generate content that mattered most to viewers. Often times you could catch this eager journalist sitting in edit bays with photographers slowly shaping and formulating the execution of the vision they worked on in the field as a team.

After three months of being apart from her husband Talitha packed up and moved to Orlando Florida with her resume DVD in hand. At that time a lot of faith and her eyes set on knocking on the doors of the four stations in the market. Two months of persistently loud knocking paid off. Two stations made offers to her within the same week. A Reporter and Fill-In Anchor and a Weekend Anchor / Reporter position were on the table. FOX 35 in Orlando welcomed their new Weekend Anchor/ Reporter.
While at FOX 35 the daily live shots, tight deadlines and attention to accuracy and detail flowed from her fingertips and out of her mouth as her communication skills grew. The pattern of pitching stories, following through and leading newscasts did not go unnoticed.
Talitha’s quick wit, personality and ability to command a newscast as a weekend anchor with serious and lighthearted content captivated viewers. Talitha and her co-anchor held the highest rated newscast at the station. A promotion came within nine months with a schedule change to a Morning Anchor / Reporter position Monday through Friday.
In addition to gathering and conveying news from overnight for morning viewers, Talitha’s live and packaged reports has also made national news. While becoming a stand out journalist on general assignments conducted after Anchoring the FOX 35 Morning Show, Talitha was selected from 15 reporters to work on special projects for promotable stories and sweeps pieces.
Gathering web content was also a key to the teams success. Along with her daily responsibilities, Talitha posted news blogs and web conversions of her packages online.With the growth of technology, developing a strong web base through social media became beneficial for Talitha to gain story ideas. Technological changes also came in the form of converting to an automated ELC System where Talitha adjusted to automated cameras and running her own prompter while anchoring.

Talitha has had the honor of working with several organizations throughout her 14 year career and is now part of the Hearst family. She started working with NBC’s WESH 2 News in Orlando and immediately began covering some of the top political races and national stories including the Casey Anthony Trial and the George Zimmerman Trial. When career opportunity to return to the anchor desk within Hearst presented itself Talitha jumped at the opportunity. WXII 12 News offered her a position as a Weekend Anchor / Reporter and within a year in that role she was promoted to main Anchor of the 5 PM and 10 PM newscasts.
