Tina Nguyen serves as a sports anchor at CBS19, bringing her passion for sports to the screen.
Hailing from Nederland, Texas, Tina proudly holds a Bachelor’s Degree in telecommunication and media studies, which she earned from Texas A&M University in May 2018. As a first-generation college student and a dedicated Aggie, she stands as a testament to her family’s accomplishments.
During her time at Texas A&M, Tina actively contributed to covering various Aggie sports. She took on roles as a student reporter, videographer, and editor for 12th Man Productions. Her work received recognition through features on SEC Network+ broadcasts and the 12th Man website.
Before joining CBS19, Tina embarked on an exciting journey, spending a season with the National Basketball Association (NBA) as part of their social and digital team in the New York City area.
Beyond her career, Tina holds unique sports memories, having witnessed pivotal moments in major sports events. She was present for Kawhi Leonard’s buzzer-beater in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers in Round 1 of the 2019 NBA Playoffs. She also saw Tua Tagovailoa’s iconic 2nd-and-26 pass to DeVonta Smith, which played a key role in Alabama securing the 2017-18 College Football Playoff National Championship title.
