Tisia Muzinga is an Anchor/Reporter at KCCI 8 News, having joined the team in June of 2019.
Born in Champaign, Illinois, Tisia spent her formative years in Platteville, Wisconsin. Her parents, Lawrence and Annie, immigrated to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She also has family connections in France, Germany, and Canada.
Seeking a change from her small-town upbringing, Tisia made the decision to move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she pursued her college education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her studies focused on Journalism, Advertising, and Media Studies. Following her college graduation, she embarked on her career as a multimedia journalist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In her free time, Tisia is a passionate supporter of Wisconsin sports and enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through regular workouts.
Tisia’s on-air presence can be experienced on KCCI 8 News This Morning Weekends, where she anchors from 5 to 6 a.m. and 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturdays and from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sundays. During the weekdays, she takes on field reporting duties for KCCI 8 News This Morning.
