In August 2019, Tony Atkins became a member of the TMJ4 team, taking on the role of a reporter. He expressed great enthusiasm for returning to his hometown of Milwaukee after spending five years on the road. Tony’s eagerness is driven by the desire to cover stories that hold significance for the people he’s known throughout his entire life. However, he does harbor some reservations about the cold winters in the area.
Before making his way to Milwaukee, Tony had a professional journey that included positions as a Reporter at FOX13 News in Memphis, TN, a digital journalist at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, and a Digital Media Associate at the Austin-American Statesman in Texas.
Having already become a seasoned presence in the newsroom, Tony’s connection with TMJ4 extends back to his completion of two internships with the TMJ4 Sports team. He is genuinely excited about collaborating with both new and familiar colleagues.
Tony’s academic background includes graduating with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013. Beyond his professional commitments, Tony finds enjoyment in local sports, comedy, and the great outdoors. His passion lies in unearthing impactful and valuable stories.
