Travis, a native of St. Paul, is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology/Climatology.
During his college years, Travis embarked on his meteorology journey as an intern at 10/11 News in Lincoln. Upon graduation, he transitioned into the role of a weekend meteorologist at KDLT in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, eventually moving on to become the morning meteorologist. After a year in Sioux Falls, Travis, along with his wife, made the decision to return to Central Nebraska to be closer to their family and friends.
Travis’ fascination with weather ignited at a very young age. At just two years old, St. Paul experienced a tornado, which left a lasting impact. His particular passion within meteorology is severe weather, and during the stormy season, he occasionally heads into the field to chase storms, aiming to capture captivating footage for viewers at home.
Presenting weather forecasts to the people of Central Nebraska is something Travis takes great pleasure in. He emphasizes, “I grew up here, which gives me a profound understanding of the Central Plains weather. Having a career I’m passionate about makes those early mornings much more manageable.”
In his free time, Travis cherishes moments with his wife and two children. He’s an avid supporter of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the New England Patriots.
Travis holds his faith close to his heart and is an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan.
Finally, he expresses his deep gratitude, saying, “I’m truly humbled by the incredible support from viewers across Nebraska and North Central Kansas. Without all of you, I wouldn’t have the privilege of doing a job I love every day. Thank you for tuning in.”
