Tre Ward became a part of the WBAL-TV 11 News team in October 2019, marking a significant move to Charm City. His journey somewhat mirrored that of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, as he made the transition from Louisville to Baltimore.

Prior to joining WBAL, Tre dedicated two years to his role at WLKY-TV, a sister station in Louisville, Kentucky. During his tenure in the Derby City, he conducted exclusive interviews with the family members of victims in the Jeffersontown Kroger shooting, mere hours after the tragic incident.

Uniquely, Tre’s journey in the news world began behind the scenes as a producer in Davenport, Iowa. However, he swiftly made the transition to an on-air reporter, a journey that led him to Huntsville, Alabama. Interestingly, he remains impartial in the fervent Auburn vs. Rolltide rivalry.

Born and raised in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, Tre is a true city dweller at heart. He takes immense pride in his alma mater, Northern Illinois University, where he earned the title of a Huskie. Furthermore, he is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
