Trevor Sonnier, a native of Crowley, Louisiana, has had a lifelong passion for weather and a dream of becoming a meteorologist on television. His family has deep roots in Acadiana, and tragically, his great-grandfather was among the victims who lost their lives during Hurricane Audrey in Cameron Parish.

Trevor believes that this personal connection to the impact of severe weather is what has driven his desire to save lives and keep people safe while pursuing his love for meteorology. He is delighted to have the opportunity to serve his home area of Acadiana.

Trevor earned his Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He has a background in both the public and private sectors of weather. Before joining KLFY, Trevor worked as an on-air meteorologist in Alexandria and also provided forecasting services for the Oil & Gas industry.

In his free time, Trevor is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys activities like fishing, hiking, and playing a round of golf.
