Tyson became a part of the KTVB news team in August 2012, initially assuming the role of a digital media and newscast producer. Currently, he divides his time between producing the News at 6 and generating content for KTVB.COM.
Growing up in the Treasure Valley, Tyson developed a profound affection for the Boise area and the majestic mountains of Central Idaho. In his free time, he indulges in activities such as bicycling and motorcycling, embarking on weekend getaways to McCall or Stanley, and exploring the Boise foothills with his dogs.
Tyson is a proud alumnus of both Boise State and the University of Idaho, embodying a dual identity as both a Bronco and a Vandal. His academic journey culminated with the completion of his Master of Natural Resources degree at the University of Idaho in May 2013.
With over a decade of experience in television news, Tyson has also ventured into other roles, such as working as a zipline guide and a snowboard instructor.
An enthusiastic globetrotter, Tyson spent two years abroad, primarily in Europe, as a cast and staff member for an international educational performing arts group. His diverse experiences and educational background make him a valuable contributor to the KTVB team.
