Victor Vitarelli holds the esteemed position of Executive Producer for ESPN+ Original Content. His remarkable career is underscored by an impressive array of accolades, including 25 Sports Emmy Awards, six Edward R. Murrow honors, and numerous other industry recognitions. For nearly two decades, he has been a driving force in ESPN’s storytelling endeavors.
Since April 2018, Vitarelli has taken on the pivotal responsibility of overseeing the execution of original series and project management for ESPN+. His contributions have been instrumental in the network’s success.
From 2010 to 2018, Victor Vitarelli assumed the role of Senior Coordinating Producer in the ESPN Storytelling Unit. During this period, he formulated and executed storytelling strategies that aimed to foster cross-platform consumption. Notably, he played a key role in the creation and expansion of “SC Featured,” a cornerstone brand for ESPN storytelling.
Victor’s journey with ESPN began in 2003 when he joined as a Coordinating Producer for ESPN Features. In this capacity, he led a team of content producers responsible for delivering premium storytelling content to support ESPN Studio and Event productions. His role included determining storylines that aligned with editorial objectives and drove audience engagement.
Before joining ESPN, Victor Vitarelli made his mark at ABC Sports in New York, where he served as a Director of Production.
A proud graduate of the Syracuse University SI Newhouse School of Communications, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Television, Film, and Radio Production. His educational foundation has played a pivotal role in shaping his successful career in the sports media industry.
