Violet Scibior is the dedicated StormTracker 2 Weekend Meteorologist, bringing weather updates to viewers during NEWSChannel 2 Weekend Today and NEWSChannel 2 Weekend at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Her journey with the StormTracker 2 team began in July 2019, shortly after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from SUNY College at Brockport, a significant milestone in her career. Her academic pursuits also included a minor in Broadcasting, highlighting her comprehensive approach to the field.
Violet’s early meteorological experiences include a valuable internship at Spectrum Bay News 9 in Tampa, Florida, in 2018, where she delved into the intricacies of weather reporting. Her meteorological journey began even earlier, with an internship at WKTV News Channel 2 in 2014, cementing her passion for this dynamic field.
Violet’s love for meteorology is unmistakable, and her enthusiasm shines brightest when she’s tracking severe thunderstorms, her favorite weather phenomenon. Her focus extends to microscale meteorology and small-scale interactions, where her attention to detail and commitment to excellence are evident.
Beyond meteorology, Violet possesses a remarkable background as a competitive figure skater, showcasing her talent at the National Showcase USFS for her captivating routine in 2014. Her journey to nationals was marked by victory in her division and a triumphant performance in the final championship round at the Mohawk Valley Classic Meyda Tiffany Showcase Competition.
Her sense of adventure is not limited to the skies; she is also an avid scuba diver, holding a PADI Open Water Diver certification. Her diverse interests include exploring the world through travel, embarking on hikes, maintaining an active running regimen, and nurturing her artistic side.
In her leisure time, Violet finds joy in the company of her beloved cat, Barry, a blue mitted Ragdoll, who undoubtedly appreciates her affection and attention. Violet Scibior’s vibrant personality, combined with her meteorological expertise and adventurous spirit, makes her a valued member of the StormTracker 2 team.
