Walter Perez became part of the 6abc team in September 2003, taking on the roles of anchor and general assignment reporter for Action News. Prior to his tenure at WPVI-TV, he worked as a reporter and weekend morning anchor at WNBC in New York. His career journey also included anchor/reporter positions at WPLG in Miami and News 12 New Jersey.

Walter’s extensive experience also extends to radio, where he co-hosted the highest-rated radio talk show in Central New Jersey on WCTC News-Talk Radio 1450AM. Additionally, he served as a color commentator for the Princeton Football Radio Network in New Jersey for five years.

Walter boasts numerous accolades in the broadcasting field, including an Edward R. Murrow award for spot news coverage, a New York City Press Club award, a New York State Broadcasters award, and two New Jersey Associated Press awards.

With a degree in political science from Duke University, Walter, along with his wife, calls Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, home, where they reside with their two sons.
