Wendy Suares is a prominent figure in the world of journalism, co-anchoring FOX 25 News at Five and 5:30, the FOX 25 Primetime News at Nine, and the FOX 25 Late Edition alongside Mike Brooks.
Her journey at the Primetime desk began in 2013, following her role as co-anchor of the FOX 25 Morning News. Before that, she served as a morning anchor and reporter at KARK, the NBC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Wendy’s dedication and talent have been recognized with Associated Press awards, not only for public affairs reporting but also for news photography. She has covered a wide range of events, from Hurricane Katrina to cold cases from the Civil Rights era. Wendy’s passion for incisive political reporting was nurtured during her coverage of the Mississippi state legislature for WLBT and five other television stations.
A native of Biloxi, Wendy embarked on her journalism career in 2004 at WXVT in Greenville, Mississippi. She graduated cum laude from Emerson College in Boston, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Communications. During her time at Emerson, she co-anchored and reported for the Associated Press’ “College News Station of the Year.”
Wendy’s life has been marked by exploration, including a semester of study in The Netherlands during her college years. She is not only an accomplished journalist but also a competitive tennis player, having played college tennis at Emerson. In her leisure hours, she enjoys live music and savoring the diverse culinary offerings of OKC.
Wendy and her husband, Stephen, a teacher and coach, are the proud parents of three young children, including twins.
