Whitney became a valued member of the 9&10 News team when she joined as a reporter in the Traverse City bureau in February 2017. Her journey in journalism led her to this role, marked by her educational background and previous experiences.

Whitney is a graduate of the University of Michigan – Dearborn, where she earned her degree in journalism and screen studies. During her college years, she actively pursued opportunities to build her skills and gain practical experience. She completed internships at notable media outlets, including Detroit Public TV, WXYZ-TV Channel 7 in Detroit, and WLNS Channel 6 in Lansing. These internships provided her with valuable insights into the world of journalism and broadcasting.

While Whitney originally hails from metro-Detroit, her connection to Northern Michigan runs deep, having spent time in the region growing up. She now embraces Traverse City as her home and is excited to contribute to the local news scene.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Whitney is an adventurer at heart. She cherishes moments spent on the water, exploring new places, and savoring quality time with her family and friends.
