Will Petersen serves as the Digital Sports Producer at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado, a role he assumed in July 2019. Being a Colorado native, he hails from Littleton and completed his high school education at Kent Denver. He furthered his academic journey by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri in 2012.

Prior to his tenure at 9NEWS, Will gained valuable experience through various stops in his career. He contributed to cover32.com, Mile High Sports Magazine, and also had a presence in the realm of radio at Altitude Sports Radio.

Will’s passion for Colorado sports is palpable, and he revels in covering a wide range of teams. This includes the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, and Rockies, in addition to local college and prep teams. Some of his most cherished Denver sports moments include the iconic “This one’s for John!” and “This one’s for Pat!” celebrations, as well as the unforgettable sight of Ray Bourque raising the Stanley Cup in 2001.
