In August 2013, Todd became a valuable member of the News 4 team, taking on the role of Morning Meteorologist for programs such as “Wake Up,” “Winging It,” and “News 4 at Noon.” His meteorological journey then led him to the position of Chief 4 Warn Meteorologist on March 24, 2016, where he continued to excel.

Before joining News 4, Todd showcased his meteorological expertise as an On-Camera Meteorologist for The Weather Channel from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, he served as a Morning Meteorologist for NBC, MSNBC, and NBC Weather Plus from 2007 to 2009, enriching his broadcasting experience.

Todd’s meteorological career began to take shape during his time as a Meteorologist for WLTX News 19 in Columbia, South Carolina, from 2003 to 2007, where he laid the foundation for his meteorological knowledge.

His choice of meteorology as a career can be traced back to his early experiences as a lifelong sailor. Exposure to the raw power and beauty of weather from a young age piqued his interest. His initial motivation for studying meteorology in college was driven by the desire to excel in offshore forecasting. Interestingly, Todd’s fascination with the TV business was sparked during a visit to ABC 6 in Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 10. He later returned to the same station as an intern, completing a full circle in his journey.

Beyond his professional life, Todd is deeply passionate about sailing and skiing, activities he has enjoyed since childhood. While his sailing adventures have mostly unfolded along the New England Coast, he eagerly anticipates exploring the lakes and rivers of Western New York. When it comes to skiing, Todd’s dedication shines through as he seizes every opportunity to hit the slopes. He fondly recalls that some of his best ski buddies learned their skills on the hills of the Southern Tier.

Todd has a strong connection to Buffalo, and one of the top things he loves about the city is its people. His wife, a Buffalo native, holds a special place in his heart. Additionally, Todd appreciates the challenging weather forecasts, the diverse culinary scene, the dynamic seasons, and the abundance of outdoor activities that Buffalo offers.

To add to his impressive meteorological career, Todd holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval, attesting to his expertise in the field. His educational background includes a B.S. in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His hometown is Bristol, Rhode Island, where his fascination with the elements of the weather began, eventually leading him to a fulfilling career in meteorology.
