In January 2021, Treasure Roberts became a valuable addition to the WKMG News 6 team, taking on the role of a Breaking News Multimedia Journalist.

Her journey prior to joining the team led her to Peoria, Illinois, where she served as a reporter and occasionally stepped into the role of a fill-in anchor. Notably, she played a pivotal role in launching the station’s inaugural investigative team.

Treasure’s roots trace back to the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, where she was both born and raised. Her academic journey led her to Michigan State University, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and media & information. During her time at MSU, she actively contributed as a reporter for the award-winning, student-led newscast, MSU Focal Point. Her leadership skills shone as she took on the role of president for the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as the MSU chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Treasure’s enthusiasm for the field of journalism extended to securing an impressive total of eight internships during her academic years. One of the most notable experiences was her internship with NBC Nightly News alongside Lester Holt in New York. Her love for travel took her across the globe, leading to opportunities to study and intern abroad in both India and Cape Town, South Africa.

When she’s not exploring new destinations, Treasure finds joy in spending time with friends, taking care of adorable puppies, capturing striking images of her culinary adventures, and immersing herself in the latest Netflix series. Treasure’s newfound home in Central Florida has her eagerly anticipating her very first visit to Disney World, a moment she’s greatly looking forward to.
