Tony Martinez, the esteemed traffic reporter for “Good Day Oregon,” a show that has earned multiple Emmy Awards on FOX 12, has been a part of the KPTV team since 1996, making him one of the show’s original members.

Before his television career, Tony had a successful stint at radio station Z-100, where he was affectionately known as “Officer Tony” on “The Z Morning Zoo.” His twelve years behind the microphone cultivated a strong following, which he carried with him to television. Transitioning seamlessly from radio to TV, Tony brought his in-depth knowledge of Portland Metro area’s roadways to morning viewers. His expertise and delivery have earned him the prestigious “Best Traffic Reporter” Award from The Associated Press on five separate occasions. Furthermore, Tony’s quick wit and charm have solidified his place as a beloved member of the “Good Day Oregon” team.

Beyond his media career, Tony Martinez has a multidimensional background. He holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and serves as an adjunct professor in the Sociology Department at Portland State University.

In his personal life, Tony is a married man and a proud father to a teenage daughter and son.
