Tom is a renowned weather reporter in the United States. He provides weather updates on WBAL-TV during weeknights at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m., as well as at 10 p.m. on MeTV Baltimore. You can also catch his forecasts on WBAL NewsRadio 1090AM and 101.5FM during the evenings.

His career took root in his hometown, Baltimore, in 1989 when he joined WBAL-TV. Before that, he served as a meteorologist in Cleveland, Ohio, at WEWS-TV, and in Bluefield, West Virginia, at WVVA-TV.

Tom’s educational background is impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from North Carolina State University in 1984. Furthermore, he holds a Seal of Approval for broadcast meteorology from the American Meteorological Society, a testament to his expertise in the field.

Beyond meteorology, Tom’s interests branch into theology. He obtained a Master of Arts degree in theology from the Ecumenical Institute at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore. In 2018, he co-authored the book “Understanding the Divide: A Presbyterian Elder, a Roman Catholic Theologian, and Basic Questions of the Christian Faith,” showcasing his intellectual depth.

Tom’s life outside of work is vibrant. He and his wife, Laurie, have raised four sons in Baltimore County and now find joy in caring for their two Field Spaniels, Roger and Rhett. Additionally, Tom is an avid runner, having completed 12 marathons, including five Baltimore Marathons, and he now prefers running shorter distances. His hobbies also include golf, fly-fishing, and reading, making him a multifaceted individual.
