Tony Sadiku is a meteorologist who joined the FOX 13 team in November 2020 and is excited to be back in his home state. He provides weather forecasts on weekend mornings and delivers reports during the week.

Tony is a graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Journalism and Communications. He has furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University. His expertise in meteorology has been recognized with the Seal of Approval by the National Weather Association.

His professional journey has taken him to various news stations. He previously worked at WSOC in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before that, he had roles at WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida, and WRUF in Gainesville. His dedication to meteorology even extended to his college years, where he interned at WJXT in Jacksonville.

Throughout his career, Tony has covered significant weather events, including Hurricane Irma in Florida. He’s not just a weather reporter; he’s also chased tornadoes and flown with Hurricane Hunters into Hurricane Dorian when it was a borderline Category 5 storm devastating the Bahamas.

While Tony finds thrill in extreme weather, his true passion lies in keeping people safe, simplifying complex science to make it understandable, and sharing compelling stories. Beyond his work, he enjoys activities such as exercising, playing musical instruments like the piano and bass guitar, and cheering on his favorite team, the Florida Gators.
